Terrance Dorsey Obituary

Terrance “Terry” L. Dorsey, 75, of Colchester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 22, 2021 with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 25,1946 in Ft. Fairfield, Maine to Philip Dorsey and Rita (Higgins) Sears. Terrance married his love, Mariette (Emond) Dorsey on July 27, 1968. Terrance proudly served his country as a US Navy Seabee and served 2 tours in Vietnam from 1965-1967.  He worked for many years for Stroehmann Bakery & Ryder Logistics as a Shipping & Transportation manager.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid sports fan.  Being from New England he rooted for the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. After his retirement he enjoyed watching his grandchildren's multiple sporting events and attended their games regularly.  He enjoyed getting together with friends on Saturday evenings to play cards.  He will be missed by all who knew him. Besides his beautiful wife of almost 53 years, he leaves behind his sons, David Dorsey and his wife Deborah of Portland, CT and Derrick Dorsey of Colchester, CT; his daughters, Deborah Grottole and her husband John of Colchester, CT, Danielle ReBant and her husband Thomas of Raleigh, NC; his sisters, Donna Mullins and her husband Brian of Bristol, CT, and Cathy Morgan of FL; his brothers, Steven Bienkowski and his wife MaryAnn of Willington, CT and Daniel Bienkowski and his wife Niki of CA; a sister-in-law Maureen Dorsey of Wallingford; his mother Rita Higgins Sears of FL; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Zachary, Jenna, Andrew, Benjamin, Joshua, and Julia; his great-granddaughter Paige and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his father, Philip Dorsey, Terrance is predeceased by his stepmother Rita Dorsey and his brother, Gary Dorsey.  Calling hours for Terrance will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 4pm to 6pm at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home,167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, followed by military honors.
