Terry Ellen Marsie, of East Haddam, passed away at home with her husband by her side on April 17, 2026. She was 78 years old. She was born on April 8, 1948, in Middletown, daughter to the late Frank and Helen Czaja.

She grew up in Moodus, where her childhood was spent on her familys apple orchard. After graduating from high school, she worked various jobs but lastly worked as a finishing machine operator for a printing company, which is where she met her husband, Richard and they wed on November 5, 1994. She raised her children, Brian and James, in East Haddam.

In her spare time, Terry enjoyed shopping, cooking, vegetable gardens and lastly relaxing on her deck watching birds on the feeders and feeding her chipmunks (Chirpies) as she called them. She loved trips to Maine to enjoy the shoreline scenery, seafood and local shopping. She had a deep compassion for animals and was especially devoted to rescuing and caring for dogs. She gave so many dogs a loving home over the years. Her most devoted were her rottweilers, Ozzie and Raven, who are now at her side again.

Terry will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by her husband, Richard; her sons, Brian Czaja, and James Albinus; her brother, James Czaja, her grandchildren, Tyler, Justin and Sarah; and numerous extended family members and friends. Extended thanks to our neighbor Mark, health aide Cora and in-home nurses, who were all so caring.
