Thelma "Kim" (Rowland) Bennis

Thelma K. Bennis (Kim Rowland) 66, of Moodus, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born May 14, 1955, in Hartford, Connecticut; she was a daughter of the late Robert and Jean (Davidson) Rowland. Kim was a 1973 graduate of Nathan Hale-Ray High School in East Haddam. For over 20 years she worked for the Go Fly a Kite Company in East Haddam, one of her favorite “perks” of the job was traveling across the country to test fly various kites.  She later went on to work for Tritown Plastics in East Haddam for over 12 years, and up until recently was working at The Saybrook At Haddam assisted living facility in Haddam.  She will be forever loved and remembered by her children Brandy Vanden Hul and husband Brad Vanden Hul, Jason Dorau and fiancé Callie Kaminski, Curt Dorau and fiancé Tina McDowell and Ryan Dorau and fiancé Tracy Schultz; grandchildren Dustin, Jasmine, Alex, Jade, Trevor, Kylie, Ali, Jason, Jaxson and Hunter; great grandchild Rowan; sisters Sharon Fritz, Trudy Novak and husband Peter Novak, Jeri Fortier and Husband Michael Fortier; and numerous other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers Earl Rowland, Freddie Rowland, Duane Rowland and Ernie Rowland.
