Theresa Ann (Weinzierl) Havens

Theresa Ann  Havens, of Colchester,  and formerly of East Haddam, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Harrington Court in Colchester. Born February 28, 1940 in Middletown; she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Berle) Weinzierl.  Upon graduating from East Hampton High School, she went to work at Pratt & Whitney as a secretary, got married and had children, and then later worked for several years as an assembly technician soldering circuit boards. In 1986 she married her husband, Ralph Havens, they settled in East Haddam. Theresa loved to spend her time observing the natural wildlife that would come to visit her as she sat out on her back deck, and would also restore old furniture that she and Ralph would find. She was an active member of the East Haddam Senior Center, and loved to help brighten the lives of those around her, whether it was being there when a friend needed someone to talk to, or dressing up as Mrs. Claus while Ralph played Santa as they visited the East Haddam and Colchester nursing homes. She is survived by her husband Ralph Havens; daughter Angela Radzavich and Angela’s father Thomas Radzavich; daughter-in-law Cynthia Radzavich; step children Christina and Jeffrey Havens; sister Mary Loos and Husband George; and numerous other extended family and friends.. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her son Randy Radzavich and brothers Jack and Robert Weinzierl. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Food Bank.
