Thomas J. Ladegard, 51, of Manchester, and formerly of Colchester, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. Born April 6, 1970 in Hartford; he was the son of Thomas S. Ladegard and Linda (Rumney) Paine. Thomas grew up in Colchester, and was a 1988 graduate of Bacon Academy. He attended UConn for several years, and worked for the City of Hartford as a Senior Analysis for 20 years. He was a voracious reader of all genres, but his favorite was fantasy and science fiction works, however he would read just about anything, and could usually be found with a book in his hand. In his spare time, when he wasn’t reading, he enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends, and roleplaying (RPG) video games. He will be forever loved and remembered by his mother, Linda Paine and step-father David Paine of Moosup, his father Thomas Standish Ladegard and stepmother Susan of South Carolina. Sister Kimberly Bourgeois and husband Gregory Bourgeois of Moosup, niece and nephew Samantha Pixley and Clifford Pixley IV and their significant others of Moosup; Uncles Don Ladegard and wife Beverly of Niantic, and Richard Ladegard and wife Judy of Colchester; his friends Bob, Jack, Brian, Heather, Sarah, Susan and Kathy; his cat Gwen; and numerous other extended family and friends. He is predeceased by paternal grandparents Harold and Gladys Ladegard, maternal grandparents Elmer and Dorothea Rumney; and his uncle John Rumney. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 10 AM to 12 PM directly at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT 06415. A memorial service will be observed at 12 PM, followed by a graveside committal service at Linwood Cemetery in Colchester.
