Thomas “Tom” Maxim Maikshilo, 84 years of age, of Colchester, CT passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in, Colchester, CT. Born March 5, 1940, in Hartford, CT; he was the son of the late Maxim and Amelia (Kutis) Maikshilo. He is survived by his loving wife Suzanne.

A lifelong resident of Colchester, Tom learned the values of hard work from his upbringing on a local dairy farm. He had a career as a chemist at Pfizer that spanned 37 years. He kept a small hobby farm for many years and could often be found tending to the animals, gardens, and orchard. Tom had a passion for the outdoors and was a lifetime member of the Colchester Fish and Game Club. He greatly enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and camping, whether it be with his sons or friends. Tom was an avid collector of antiquities of all kinds. He recognized significance of these everyday items and their inherent historical value. His passion for antiques and collecting resulted in becoming a member of the Quinebaug Valley Engineers Association.

Tom will be dearly missed by all that knew him. He is also survived by his sons Mark, Todd, Timothy, and Adam; his stepchildren Maureen, Robert, John, and James as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom is predeceased by his sister Jean Kowalski.
