Thomas Francis McGuire, of Lebanon, passed away on July 25, 2025, at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.  He was 71 years old.  Tom was born in Hartford on September 5, 1953, a son of the late Michael and Theresa (McLaughlin) McGuire.  Tom grew up in Glastonbury.  After high school, he traveled extensively throughout the country.  Tom later settled in Lebanon where he opened his own business, Affordable Pest Control, which he owned and operated for 35 years.  Tom was an avid outdoorsman.  He was a long time member of the Colchester Fish and Game Club where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with like minded friends. Tom loved watching NFL games, especially cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.  In his younger days, Tom enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and later his classic 1953 Chevy truck.  A favorite vacation spot was New Brunswick, Canada, where he loved visiting family in the area.  His love of New Brunswick began after spending summers at the family farm with his grandfather and his Uncle Charlie.  Later years he enjoyed time in New Brunswick with his cousins at their deer camp, The Ponderosa. Tom was a good man  and a great friend to all who knew him.  He will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by his siblings, Robert of California, Kathleen of Manchester, Brian (Carol) of East Hartford, Kevin (Cathy) of Lebanon, Joseph (Sarah) of Marlborough, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by a brother, Jeffrey.  Funeral Service will be held from the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester, beginning with calling hours on Thursday, July 31st from 4 – 6 PM.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st, at 10 AM in the Exeter Cemetery, Exeter Road (Rte. 207), Lebanon.  Tom’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hartford Hospital, Bliss 7 floor for their compassionate care given to him.
