Vanessa Marie Rivero

Vanessa Marie Rivero, 39, of Willington, Conn., passed away suddenly on April 11, 2023. She was born September 15, 1983 in New Britain to her late father Elvis Rivero, Sr., and mother Shirley Bachand Miskunas. 

She leaves behind her beloved children, sons, Jordan Rivero and Travis French, Jr., and daughter, Paris French as well as Travis French, Sr., father of Travis, Jr., and Paris; brother, Elvis Rivero, Jr., and his wife Angela and nephew Cassius; step-sisters Nicole Gatti and Jessica Ott. Vanessa also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

Vanessa graduated from Lanoka Harbor High School with a soccer scholarship in New Jersey. She loved music, sports, wind chimes and feeding her birds. She was a spiritual and loving soul and her faith in God was unwavering. Most importantly, she loved her children with all her heart. They were her life and now she is their forever guardian angel.

Relatives and friends may call at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, Conn. on Tuesday, April 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will take place the following day on April 26 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, concluding with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1141 Stanley Street, New Britain, Conn. 

The family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to a trust fund to benefit Vanessa’s children. Details will be made in the near future.
