Violet P. St. Thomas, of Colchester, passed away on January 24, 2025, at her home with her loved ones devotedly and prayerfully attending her.  She was 96 years old.  Violet was born in Cambridge, MA on November 17, 1928 to her late parents, James and Violet (Valentino) Peardon.  In 1948, Violet married her beloved husband, Leo St. Thomas.  The couple spent the next 46 years sharing a beautiful life together while raising their family. They began with a home on Long Island, later moving to Stamford, Saybrook, Westbrook, and then after Leo passed away in 1994, three years later she bought her own home in Westbrook. In 2020 Violet moved to Colchester near her daughter Lori and her family. When her children were young, Violet volunteered serving on the PTA and in later years, she taught CCD at her church on Long Island.  In her free time, you might find Violet quilting, sewing or painting.  She will be dearly missed but always remembered with love by her children and their spouses, Lori (Jack) Faski of Colchester, Linda St. Thomas of Columbia, MD, Mitchell (Linda) St. Thomas of Chandler, AZ; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she is predeceased by her son-in-law James McDonald, and grandson Andrew McDonald. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 31st at 10 AM directly at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave., Colchester.  Burial will follow in the River Side Cemetery in Old Saybrook.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army or the Middlesex Home Hospice Care.
