Vivian Brookman, of Marlborough, passed away at Middlesex Hospital on June 3, 2025, after a long, debilitating illness.  She was 90 years old.  Vivian was born in Amenia (Hudson Valley), NY on April 19, 1935.  She was a daughter of the late Edward and Marion Hurn.  Vivian married the love of her life, Harold Brookman, Sr. and the couple moved to Cromwell and later East Hampton where they raised their family.  On October 13, 2010, Harold predeceased her.  Vivian took great pride in her home.  She would often be found gardening, growing flowers, and feeding the hummingbirds in her yard.  She retired several years ago after a 20-year career as a Pharmacy Tech with Pharm America in Berlin, CT.  She loved to watch Red Sox baseball games with her husband and in her free time, she made beautiful crochet blankets for all her family and friends.  Most importantly, she will be remembered by her family as a devoted and loving wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother.  She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by her children and their spouses, Harold Brookman Jr. (Beverly) of Rutland, VT, Michael Brookman (Darlene) of Rutland, VT, Christine (James) Cleroux of Cromwell, Amy Strickland of Colchester; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her dear friend, Janet; and many extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester on Friday, July 11, 2025 beginning with a memorial service at 11 AM followed by burial in the State Veteran’s Cemetery, Middletown at 1 PM.
