Obituary

Wallace James Squier, Jr, 49 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday September 6. 2023 at Harrington Court in Colchester.  Wallace loved with his whole heart.  His favorite things to do were play video games with friends online, he developed many meaningful friendships there and he also liked watching television.  Wallace also had an undying love for Superheroes, his favorite character has always been Spider Man.  Wallace loved to joke around and had the best sense of humor.  He was loved by so many.  Wallace never met a stranger, ever. 

He was born at Middlesex Hospital, December 14. 1973.  Wallace graduated from the Gengras Center in West Hartford.  He spent most of his life in Colchester but moved to Norwich in the last couple of years.  Colchester was home to him.  Wallace spent most of his adult life involved with the Guide Program and Sea Bird Inc, he enjoyed dances, camps, hanging with friends and so many other things through the years. Wallace volunteered at Harrington Court, worked in the bakery at Stop and Shop and for the past several years he has worked at Pride Gardens and Captain Scotts Lobster Dock with his job coach just to name a few.

Wallace is survived by his loving parents: Wallace J. Squier, Sr and his wife Cathy and Carletta (Culbert) Benjamin and her husband Ken.  He is also survived by his siblings, Wanda (Lavon) Green, Matthew Benjamin, Christopher Blazejovsky, and Justin Blazejovsky.  Wallace also loved his nieces and nephews Jazmyne, Nicole, Daisy, Lavon Jr, and Owen and 2 great nephews Aiden and Kason. 

Visitation will be held Friday, September 15, from 6 to 7PM followed by a chapel service at 7PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester CT, 06415.  In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Guide Program, 129 Asylum St, Norwich CT 06360.  To sign the online guest book or share a memory of Wallace, please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com
