Wendy (DeSanto) Phillips, 51, of Bristol and formerly of East Haven, went home to Heaven on Good Friday (March 30, 2018) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, surrounded by loved ones.
Born July 4, 1966 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Anthony DeSanto, Sr., and Geraldine (Colberg) DeSanto. Wendy had an incredible work ethic and worked tirelessly as a waitress to provide for her family, to whom she was ever devoted. She also loved baking and cooking as well as listening to music. Wendy was passionate about Autism awareness, and advocated extensively for her son and others. Survivors included two children, Marissa Fusco of East Haven and William Phillips, III of Bristol; three siblings, Carmela Ghirardi and her husband, Larry of Salem, Gina Burton of Mauldin, SC and Anthony DeSanto, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Taylors, SC; and a tight-knit group of friends.
A Celebration of her Life will be observed on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road Colchester, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wendy Phillips Memorial Fund online at http://www.gofundme.com/wendy-phillips-memorial-fund.
