William P. Spalla

William (Bill) P. Spalla, 60, of Colchester, CT, husband of 34 years to Marlene (Bromley) Spalla, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. Bill was born on September 16th, 1961 to the late Raymond and Marion (Johns) Spalla in Hartford, CT. After graduating from High School, he went on to trade school to pursue his electrical career. He spent many years working as a skilled electrician, making lifelong friends along the way. Bill wanted nothing more than to spend time with his family. He took great pride in being an active part of their lives, and being involved in everything they did. His love for his wife and children was unmatched. His sense of humor lit up the room and he warmed hearts with his caring nature. He has been an avid animal lover since childhood, having many pets that he adored. Bill’s character is embodied in all of his children and is reflected in how close they are. 

Bill will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Marlene Spalla; his children, Ryan Spalla and his girlfriend Megan Armes, Brittany Spalla, Jordan Spalla and her boyfriend Joseph Sims, and Justin Spalla and his girlfriend Sam Carman; his brother Raymond Spalla; his sisters, Jean Spalla and Karen Wassell. He will be further missed by his mother-in-law Carmen Bromley; sister-in-laws Melissa Bromley, Kristin Bromley, Gabriela Bromley, and Connie Spalla; his brother-in-laws Daniel Bromley, Patrick Bromley, and Charlie Wassell; as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5th from 4PM until 6PM at the Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, May 6th, at the St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave, Colchester. The family requests that a gesture of good nature be done, and encourages people to plant either a tree or a potted plant in Bill’s honor.
