Yvon JM Boivin, 79, of South Windsor, and formerly of Moodus, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Harbor Chase Nursing Home in South Windsor. Born January 4, 1944, in Coaticook, Quebec Canada; he was the son of the late  Aldei and Antoinette (Riendeau) Boivin. Yvon married his wife Juliette Lessard on May 28, 1966, the couple settled in East Hartford where they raised their family. Yvon and Juliette retired happily on Moodus Reservoir in Moodus.  Yvon was a carpenter by trade and was known for his skilled finishing woodwork and generally being crafty with just about anything, he always had a small side project he was tinkering with. During his younger years he was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered as a devoted, loving and adventurous  husband and father who cherished spending time with his family, every moment of free time was spent making plans for family outings, or taking many trips up to Canada and anywhere South.  He adored and never missed his grandchildren's many activities. He is survived by his wife Juliette Boivin; children Joel Boivin and wife Michelle, Maryse Boivin, and Francis Boivin; sisters Raymonde Boivin, Blanche Boivin, and Denise Hebert and 7 predeceased brothers and sisters ;grandchildren  Cote, Luke, Austynn, Devin and Kristin and numerous other extended family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 12, from 4 to 7 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT. A memorial service will take place the following day Saturday, May 13  at 11 AM directly at the St Bridget of Kildare Church 75 Moodus Leesville Rd, Moodus, CT 06469. Burial to follow at St. Bridgets Cemetery.
