Zenowia Towpasz, 98, of Niantic passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2024. She was born June 1, 1925, in Skole, Ukraine. She was predeceased by her husband Zenowij (aka Pete) Towpasz, her brothers Mychajlo and Ihor Zajac and sisters Vera Kaszczynec, Daria Manylo and Anna Dacyk. Zenia is survived by her daughters, Christine Towpasz-Florie, Donna Towpasz and son Lewko Towpasz. Also, grandchildren Michael Florie, Stephanie Florie-Blank (Aaron), Alexander (Rebecca) Towpasz and Nicholas Towpasz, Great grandchildren Natalie and Niko Towpasz. Zenia’s focus was always on family to raise, nurture and protect her children. She was a constant presence in her children’s lives. She loved attending Michael and Stephanie’s school and sporting events. Zenia was known for being an excellent seamstress and a master cook and baker, known for her tortes. She will be missed many times over. Nothing on earth can separate us, not time, not space, not even death. She will always live inside of us. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 178 Linwood Ave, Colchester with interment following at St. Mary’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. It was Zenia’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Mary’s Catholic Church.
