After many years serving the community as a high school librarian, Genevieve McCarthy-Nowosad has returned to her roots—joining the family-owned funeral home with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication. While the setting may have changed, the heart of the work remains the same: offering support, guidance, and care during important life moments. With a background in education and a lifelong commitment to service, Genevieve brings a compassionate, thoughtful approach to every family served. Her goal is to ensure that each person feels seen, supported, and respected throughout their journey. At the heart of everything is a deep belief in community, and a promise to honor your loved ones with dignity, warmth, and grace.

Patricia McCarthy is one of the founding McCarthy Family members to start up and build the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home business. Since Its opening in 1996, Patricia has worked side by side with her husband, Sean and has made instrumental contributions to day-to-day operations and services they provide. Patricia grew up in Aurora, NY, one of eight children to Rex and Barbara Weeks. A strong faith and family foundation is the cornerstone influencing the manner in which compassionate care is offered to everyone in need of funeral services. Patricia worked in healthcare as a nurse for fifteen years prior to earning her degree in Mortuary Sciences from Briarwood College. With her background in nursing, Patricia brings a greater sense of nurturing care to the funeral business. As the former president for the Colchester Business Association and former president of the Lebanon Business Association, Patricia brings organizational and leadership skills to guide the staff of Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home. Patricia’s role within the family business has been an honor and a privilege throughout her career as she provides personalized attention to every family in need.

Office Manager
Kristi is the Office Manager and has been a valued member of the Aurora McCarthy family since 2018. Her exceptional organizational and managerial skills have significantly contributed to the success of the company.
Residing in Lebanon, Kristi enjoys spending quality time with her three children and her beautiful granddaughter. When she isn't with her family, you can find her enjoying the great outdoors on a beautiful day.

Bret Fensley is a compassionate and dedicated funeral service professional who graduated from Goodwin University School of Mortuary Science in 2023. With a deep passion for serving grieving families, Bret is committed to providing support and comfort during some of life’s most challenging times. In his personal life, Bret enjoys spending time outdoors, cycling, and cherishing moments with his fiancé and their dog, Tut. His empathetic nature and dedication to his work make him a valuable asset to the community he serves.
