Garnet A. Hubley
October 18, 1925 ~ October 25, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years OldGarnet A. Hubley, “Poppy” 92, of Bozrah, went home to the Lord and his late wife, Myra (Kane) Hubley, peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at home.
Born Oct. 18, 1925 in Nova Scotia, Canada, he was the son of the late Cecil Allan and Winifred Amelia (Heffernan) Hubley.
Mr. Hubley had worked as an engineer for United Nuclear and later for both the Center for the Blind and Diagnostic Medical Labs before his retirement.
A man of great faith, he was a faithful member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Waterford. Garnet had also been the recipient of the Knight of the Blind Award from the Ledyard Lions Club in 2002.
He leaves three children, Brian and his wife, Amy of Bozrah, with whom he most recently made his home, Gary of Hamden and Brenda of Ledyard; a daughter-in-law, Debbie of Wallingford; five grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Andrea, Danny and Mariah; two brothers, Al and Milton; and numerous extended family and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two siblings, Brian and Beryl.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Waterford Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 152 Bloomingdale Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375. A Memorial celebrating his life will be observed at the Church on Sunday (Nov. 12th) from 12 - 2 PM. Burial will be private.
