Harold Brown Halcott, Jr., 85, of Lebanon, beloved husband of BetseySue (Middleton) Halcott, passed away Monday (Feb. 29, 2016) at Windham Hospital.

Born Feb. 25, 1931 in Worcester, MA, he was a son of the late Harold and Florence (Sanguinet) Halcott, Sr.

He grew up in Princeton, MA and then Shrewsbury, MA, where he met BetseySue in his early teens – the couple was married on June 28, 1952. Early on, he worked for Unity Feeds in Massachusetts, which would later be acquired by Agway. The couple moved to Lebanon in 1958 to raise their family. Harold continued to work for Agway in various capacities before his retirement. He was a member of the Teamsters and the Lebanon Vol. Fire Dept.

A lover of the outdoors, he especially loved to spend time at the beach; fishing and sailing. Harold was also a member of the Rhode Island Mobile Sportfishermen Club (RIMS) as he loved to camp – to fellow members he was known as the “Captain”. Along with his wife, they traveled extensively camping all across the United States and in to Canada on their way to Alaska.

Mr. Halcott was also blessed with a love for music. He had once sang with a Barbershop Quartet and had the ability to play a number of different musical instruments.

His greatest blessing in life was his family, that he leaves to mourn his passing; his loving wife of 65 years, BetseySue; two daughters, Laura Griswold and her husband, Mark of Hebron and Audrey Halcott of Canterbury; three grandchildren, Mark Ciliano, Jr. of Lisbon, Joshua Fuller of Lebanon and Jonathan Raiola and his wife, Holly of Manchester; seven great grandchildren, Jade, Jerico, Jewell, Jason, Joshua, Jr., Jetta and Jasmine; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Nancy Auger and George Halcott.

A graveside service and burial will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11am at New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Road in Lebanon.
