William Edward McLaughlin, 23, of North Stonington, CT passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017.

Born May 6, 1993, in Norwich, CT he was the son of Edward and Wenona (Crooks) McLaughlin. Will was a member of the Preston City Congregational Church.

Will was currently attending the University of Connecticut, School of Law. Prior to that, he graduated with honors from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in Political Science. While at Wheeler High School, Will played baseball and lacrosse. His latest passion was golf. He enjoyed attending Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, and UCONN football games.    Whatever his endeavor, Will put his heart and soul into all he strove to accomplish.  His zest for life and his outgoing, friendly and charming personality showed through brightly.  He brought a great deal of pride and joy to his family and was a friend to everyone he met.  

He will be sadly missed but always remembered by his parents, his twin brother Ed, and his sister Sarah, both of North Stonington; his grandmothers, Wenona Tedeschi of Apple Valley, CA and Jean McLaughlin of Philadelphia; his long-time girlfriend, Alexa Philbrick of Vernon, and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Richard Crooks, Sr., and his paternal grandfather Robert McLaughlin.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, Feb. 16th from 4 – 7 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester.  The funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 17th at 10 AM directly at the Preston City Congregational Church, 321 Rte. 164, Preston, CT.  Burial will be private in the New Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, CT.
